Spencer Davis to Make NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Debut with NTS Motorsports

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (July 13, 2015) – Spencer Davis will make his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) debut for NTS Motorsports while driving the No. 20 Ruud Chevrolet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday, July 17. Kicking off a limited schedule with Kernersville N.C.-based NTS Motorsports, the 16-year-old is expected to compete behind the wheel of the Ruud Chevrolet in select NKNPSE races throughout the 2015 season.

“I’m looking forward to making my K&N Pro Series East debut in the No. 20 Ruud Chevrolet,” Davis said. “Ruud has been a longtime supporter of mine, and I’m excited to represent their brand as I move to the next level in my career. I’m really happy that we’ll be driving for such a well-structured, competitive team like NTS Motorsports, and I’m even more excited to be going to ‘The Magic Mile’ at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It’s cool to know that I’ll make my first K&N start on a one-mile track.”

A native of Dawsonville, Ga., Davis first climbed behind the wheel of a racecar when he was just six years old. After winning 30 championships and hundreds of races in go-kart competition across the country, he moved to late model trucks, and ultimately to pro late model and super late model cars. With wins across the Southeast, Friday’s race will mark Davis’ first start in the NKNPSE, but his second race at the track nicknamed “The Magic Mile.” Just two weeks ago, Davis earned a podium finish in a Pro All Star Series (PASS) Super Late Model event in his first-ever race at the one-mile New Hampshire oval.

“I have one previous start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, it was actually in a super late model race just a few weeks ago,” Davis said. “It’s a really nice facility and the track is a lot of fun to drive. I have a lot of confidence there after finishing inside the top-three in the PASS race, so I’m looking forward to going back to make my first K&N Pro Series East start. I’m just so thankful for this opportunity; I can’t wait to give everyone at Ruud and NTS Motorsports a good finish.”

In four NKNPSE starts this season, NTS Motorsports drivers have finished inside the top 10 in each of their races. The team also earned the pole award with driver Daniel Hemric at Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway in April.

“I enjoy being able to provide an opportunity to these young and talented drivers and look forward to our partnership with Ruud on the No. 20 Chevrolet Impala for all of Spencer’s 2015 races,” NTS Motorsports team owner Bob Newberry said. “Director of Competition Chris Rice, veteran crew chief Doug Howe, and General Manager [and spotter] Rick Carelli, along with our entire NTS Motorsports team, are all looking forward to working with Spencer in his K&N Pro Series East debut at Loudon.”

NTS Motorsports will hit the track on Friday, July 17, for the NKNPSE event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H. A tape-delayed broadcast of the Granite State 70 will air on NBCSN on Thursday, July 23.
