GOD’S HAND
As we continue our walk with God our faith increases. As our faith increases, we see the hand of God in our daily life. I wanted to share with you how God’s hand continues to be on Racing with Jesus Ministries. Greetings in the name of our lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We have opportunities in racing because of the efforts of others. It was brought to my attention this week by Modified Tour Driver Andy Seuss. As Andy dealt with the loss of good friend and former car owner Lyle Patterson he shared the story about how he came to drive for Lyle and how he was fired from that ride. Now he wasn’t fired for nonperformance, he was fired because Lyle found out he wouldn’t quit to take a better opportunity with Riggs Racing.
Andy was thankful for Lyle’s trust and faith in him and wasn’t about to jump ship. Andy was thankful for Lyle’s hand in his racing career. When Lyle found out he fired Andy and told him if he knew of a team looking for a driver he better let them know he was available. Andy moved to Riggs and his career continued to grow.
When we look back and see the steps it takes to get us somewhere we can see a helping hand guiding us along the way. Who has lent you a helping hand?
My thoughts turn to the winners this weekend at NHMS, Woody Pitkat, and Todd Szegedy. Both have had success and also known loss. There were times when each wondered where their racing career was headed. Even when the future doesn’t look like what we hoped there is the hand of God there to help us through.
In all things, we must maintain our integrity, our faith in God. Paul shared what he had learned;
Philippians 4:12-13; I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
The message is that the hand of God enables us to be content no matter what the circumstances are around us. We are thankful the hand of God has been on Racing with Jesus Ministries.
It is with great excitement and praise that I share this. God is working to move Racing with Jesus Ministries to places that only He could envision. We have received the donation of Mount Carmel Christian Church, furnishings and property. Truly a generous donation that will change the future of this ministry. We now have a home base and a Church to extend the ministry we provide at the track.
The blessing is one I believe Rev. Pat prayed for, a building for RWJM to minister, teach and counsel from. A brick and mortar location as a base of operation. This exceeds any expectation we could have had. This will also provide many opportunities for us to expand our support base.
Praise God for His indescribable gift!
If you happened to keep up with us on Facebook you saw how God’s hand has provided a place to work from at the track. We have been blessed by having an RV at the racetrack this year for the multi-day events. The generosity of Steve and Trudy Craig is a blessing. Again this is something that Rev. Pat prayed for and we now see the hand of God provide.
Our ability to have a hospitality area that you can stop by and talk is another way we can extend the ministry we provide. Many of you waved, stopped by, sat down, talked and received counsel and prayer. We welcome the opportunity to be there for you all.
One thing that is important to remember, our strength to endure the times when things seem darkest come for the hand of God. If we maintain our integrity and remain faithful God will provide for our needs. We look forward to seeing how God will provide.
Part of that provision is your generosity and support. Many of you have been faithful monthly supporters of RWJM. With our ministry being extended it also extends our resources. We have an immediate need to cover some of the startup expenses of bringing new facilities online. We would ask you to consider helping us as God would lead you. We know God has what we need as we put our trust and faith in Him. His word encourages us to ask, seek and knock, then the door will be opened.
We welcome your partnership. We welcome your participation as we extend ourselves beyond our traditional horizons. Your help will change the face of this ministry and the future for many in the racing community. Thank you for your consideration.
THOUGHTS FROM THE ROAD
NHMS- With the big weekend behind us we look forward to getting back to the bullrings. The Whelen Modified Tour heads to Monadnock and Rev. Dan will join them there. As some of you know Lynda and I were headed on mission to Haiti. Unfortunately, that trip had to be postponed due to some recent developments. We are looking forward to going soon as we have many supplies to bring to the village. Our hearts are broken that we needed to change our plan, but we are confident God’s plan is the one we need to follow.
In the meantime, Lynda and I are taking a break from things. We will use the time God provided and spend it together. A mini retreat if you will. Please lift us up in prayer as we refresh and recharge.
PRAYER NEEDED- BRIAN TIMMERMAN is in need of prayers as he recovers and adjusts. Recent complications from blood clots have resulted in the amputation of his lower leg. Please pray for his family as they make adjustments to a new way of living, support and encouragement.
LYLE PATTERSON- Please lift the family and friends of Lyle up as they grieve their loss.
