Vondohren, Howard And Manmiller Battle For NASCAR Mod Title At Grandview Saturday, Late Models And Sportsman Also Part Of Wnpv Radio Night, Fans Can Win Pocono Indycar Tickets
FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL 50-LAPPER PAYS $10,000 TO WIN ON AUGUST 8TH.
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JULY 30, 2015 . . . With his third win of the season last Saturday night Duane Howard moved to within 67 points of catching NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modified point leader Craig VonDohren as they battle for the lucrative point title at Grandview Speedway. The chase for the championship continues this Saturday night with the running of the WNPV-1440 AM Radio Night featuring the 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars with racing action getting the green at 7:30 p.m.
VonDohren is a seven time track champion while Howard is a five time titleholder. Lurking close behind, third in the standings, is Doug Manmiller. And you can’t count out 10-time track champion Jeff Strunk who is fourth in the title battle.
The Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman will all be featured in qualifying races leading up to a 30-lapper for the Modifieds, and 25-lappers for the Late Models and Sportsman.
The T.P. Trailers Modified racers will be using their part of the show to get ready for the rich Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings which is set for Saturday, August 8th. The 50-lapper for the Modifieds will pay $10,000 to the winner. Adult admission is $25 while youngsters 6 up to 12 are admitted for $5. Under 6 get free admission. Rain date is August 15.
Race night sponsor WNPV Radio, a huge supporter of racing at Grandview, will be giving away three pair of grandstand tickets for the August 23rd ABC IndyCar race at Pocono and a grand prize winner will walk off with a pair of Terrace Club tickets valued at $500.
Spectator gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and at the same time the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet will be featuring three drivers signing autographs and showing off their race cars. Included will be Modified racer Tim Buckwalter, Sportsman talent Nathan Mohn and Late Model veteran Rick Todorow. Adult admission is just $15 while youngsters under 12 be admitted FREE. Active Military are admitted free with proper ID.
Then on Sunday at 1 p.m. Outlaw Enduro racing action returns with two 125-lap races and a Ladies race. The Blast from the Past Vintage Cars will also be in action in two feature races. Admission is $10 for adults.
Fans are reminded to continue to participate in the Ingersoll Rand Testing Contest. From 11 a.m. each Saturday to 11 p.m.on Sunday fans are invited to text IRToolsGRV to 313131 to chance to win an IR prize pack.
Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown.
