PRACTICE: Smooth Sailing for Abreu
Rookie Tops Both Sessions At Iowa Speedway
Newton, Iowa – Rico Abreu continued to his successful rookie campaign Friday at Iowa Speedway.
The 23-year-old from St. Helena, California, dominated both NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East practice sessions for tonight’s combination event. He posted a fast time of 24.449 seconds (128.440 mph) during the first practice session and then went onto record a time of 24.384 seconds (129.183 mph) during the final session.
Abreu’s fellow NASCAR Next classmate Jesse Little earned the second spot with a time 24.404 seconds (129.077 mph).
Current K&N Pro Series East points leader, William Byron, was third with a time of 24.444 seconds (128.866 mph).
Chris Eggleston was fourth with 24.463 seconds (128.766 mph) and Austin will was fifth with 24.468 seconds (128.740 mph).
Spencer Davis, Dalton Sargeant, James Bickford, Ronnie Bassett Jr. and David Mayhew rounded out the top ten.
Qualifying is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., with the #ThanksKenny150 taking green flag at 8:00 p.m.
