QUALIFYING: Preece Stays Hot At Stadium
Wins Second Career Southern Modified Pole At Bowman Gray
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ryan Preece looks like the driver to beat at Bowman Gray Stadium for tonight’s Strutmasters.com 199.
After leading the field in practice, the Berlin, Connecticut, driver went out and won his ninth career Coors Light Pole in just 13 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour appearances with a fast lap of 13.202 seconds (68.171 mph). It was his second career pole at the famed quarter-mile track.
Defending race winner Danny Bohn (13.212/68.120) was second with George Brunnhoelzl III finishing out the qualifying podium (13.224/68.058). Andy Seuss and John Smith completed the top five.
Current points leader Jason Myers was sixth with his brother Burt seventh. Eric Goodale, Frank Fleming and Jeremy Gerstner completed the top 10.
The green flag for the Strutmasters.com 199 is slated for approximately 8:40 p.m.
