ASCS Southwest Returns to Canyon Speedway Park

TULSA, Okla. (August 11, 2015) The Arizona desert will ring with horsepower once again as the ASCS Southwest Region hits the road for the one-third mile Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. on Saturday, August 15.

The ASCS/IMCA “Summer Slam”, this Saturday is the third and final appearance for the Southwest Region at the Canyon Speedway Park. Seeing action on March 14 and April 4, Dusty Zomer stuck first with Rick Ziehl taking home the win in the series next outing.

Off of a visit to the Knoxville Raceway, Ziehl returns to Southwest Region with a 122 point buffer over the No. 90 of Lance Norick. While Ziehl looks to be on his way once again, the race from second, third, and fourth has everyone’s attention with six points separating Lance Norick, Ryan Linder, and Bob Ream, Jr. going into the season’s 13th outing. Kaylene Verville completes the top five.

Saturday, August 15 will see gates opening at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MT). The ASCS Southwest Region and IMCA Modifieds will take center stage, with Pure Stocks, Mini Sprints, and Renegades filling the night’s lineup of classes.
