DCRP Season Finale Next Saturday
Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (September 17, 2015) – One more night. That’s all that remains of the 2015 season at Dodge City Raceway Park.
And that final night takes place next Saturday night, September 26, with the Third Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship event atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.
The racing action that gets under way at 7:00 p.m. includes the season finale for the United Rebel Sprint Series in conjunction with the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.
At least a handful of champions will be determined over the course of the night with the balance of the top ten in each division settled as well.
While Ness City native Luke Cranston holds a 60-point advantage over Zach Blurton in the inaugural Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car points chase, it’s Liberal’s Steven Richardson with a slim eight point advantage over Cranston in the URSS title chase pending this weekend’s events in Colorado.
A pair of drivers are eying third consecutive track championships with Goddard’s Austin Allen safely ahead of William Nusser and Ryan Heger in the IMCA Modifieds and Woodward, Oklahoma’s Jeff Kaup 50 markers ahead of Mike Appel in the IMCA Sport Modifieds.
Another pair of drivers simply need to take a green flag to secure their first track titles, with Lakin’s Michael Pepper holding a 90 point advantage in the IMCA Stock Car ranks and Bucklin’s Cody Davis handily ahead of Reagan Sellard in the first season of IMCA Hobby Stock action.
General admission tickets to the Saturday night, September 26, Third Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship are just $15 for adults, with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $30.
