Legend Champion to Continue Busy Schedule
Jordan Churchill finished 13th in his first Late Model start of the year driving the Gada No. 6. He finished sixth in his debut last October 5.
He “got offered the chance and decided to try it out,” Churchill said. “… It is very different then a Legend Car, luckily last year I was offered the same opportunity and did it then also. It’s way wider, which was a constant reminder and it was cool to have to climb in. They don’t feel much faster and they feel way less sensitive versus the Legend Car. It was a blast altogether and I’m thankful for the opportunities.”
Churchill plans include a busy Legend Car schedule. He will visit Seekonk (MA) Speedway today and for the DAV weekend. He will also race Saturdays at New London-Waterford, the $2,000 to win Bridgewater Raynham Overhead Door Battle of the Sound October 25 and Turkey Derby XLII at Wall (NJ) Stadium.
Churchill would like to move to a Late Model or SK Light next season. “But racing is racing, so anything I am in I’ll be happy with.”
The Lisbon, CT driver won the Thursday INEX Legend Car championship with 4 wins, 9 top fives, 12 top tens in 16 starts. His average finish was 5.5. He won the title by 14 over Michael Blaskey.
“It shows how hard we worked this year and how it paid off. It showed the ability we had and shows that never giving up is true. It also means a lot because I know it makes my grandfather proud and this whole season has been dedicated to him.”
“It’s truly amazing. When preparing the car during the offseason I didn’t think I would have 5 wins and a championship as 2015 comes to an end. It’s almost unbelievable and makes me very proud of our little team.”
“I really need to thank my dad first and foremost for all the time and money spent on racing this season. My best friend Bobby for the days he would come over and help fix it when it’s been banged up. My family for allowing me to race to begin with. They all chip in in their own way, all my friend(s) that have come to watch this year and of course the fans. For sponsors I need to thank Prokop signs for the amazing graphics, Bozrah Collision for the great paint job, BC Heating and cooling and the Kohanski family for the continued support.”
“I also need to thank the O’Sullivans and the Ternullos for helping with anything I needed to keep me in contention for the championship and definitely need to thank Outlaw Motorsports for the tips and help with whatever I needed whenever I needed it. I have great teammates and it is awesome to be a part of Outlaw Motorsports.”
