Little prepares for The Monster Mile and the Drive Sober 125

Jesse Little, a member of NASCAR’s Next class for 2015, returns to Dover International Speedway this weekend for the running of the Drive Sober 125 on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East circuit.

Little will be back behind the wheel of the No. 97 NASCAR Technical Institute Toyota and Performance Friction Brakes Toyota at a track he’s had a great deal of success at during his NKNPSE career.

“Our team has a good one-mile program over the years and we’re excited to get back to Dover for this weekend’s Drive Sober 125. In the past, we’ve been able to run up front and challenge for a win and solid top-5 finishes. This weekend we’re going in with the same focus,” Little said.

Each start in the 2015 season for Little has been geared towards racing for victories. Over the year, the 18-year old has run in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series while also making several starts in the NKNPSE.

“This year our goal has been to compete on bigger tracks such as Chicagoland Speedway (for ThorSport Racing on the NCWTS) so it can add to my racing experiences in preparation for more starts on the Truck Series. Each time we’ve run on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with our Toyota we’ve been good right off the trailer and this Camry should be ready to go for the Drive Sober 125on Friday.”

Known as the Monster Mile, Dover International Speedway presents a one-mile racetrack with plenty of challenges. Little and his team are undaunted by the track heading into the weekend, he noted.

“You have to have patience at Dover and be prepared for a few surprises along the way with a track that has the kind of banking that Dover has. It’s a momentum situation as a driver, you have to be in a good rhythm, hit your marls and keep an eye on what’s going on around you to be successful in this race. Dover is a track where handling and a good setup package can make all the difference. Our Toyota has been on the pole this year (at Bristol in April) so we expect to have a mixture of good qualifying speed and something that can go 125 lap to get us in contention for the victory.”
