Bellm to Finish off ASCS Rookie Campaign at STN

NIXA, Mo. (October 28, 2015) – What better way to finish off a Rookie of the Year effort with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour than with I-30 Speedway’s Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, AR.

That’s exactly how Nixa, Missouri’s Kyle Bellm will finish off the 2015 season, beginning with Wednesday night’s Short Track Nationals Open aboard the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision No. 14k Sprint Car.

“I think we’ve got a good shot of success this weekend, we usually get around I-30 pretty good,” Bellm said.

After Wednesday night’s STN Open atop the high-banked, ¼-mile clay oval, Bellm takes to the track for qualifying efforts on Friday night in the Schure Built Suspensions/Christian County Collision Repair machine.

Friday’s outcome will set the stage for Saturday’s slate of championship feature events that culminates with the $15,000-to-win, $2,000-to-start STN finale.

A podium finisher in his only I-30 Speedway start this season back in April, Bellm has made into an STN preliminary feature five times over the past seven years.

It’s a number that he looks to build upon as he carries a ranking of seventh in ASCS National Tour points into the weekend.

“We’re looking to end strong at STN, it’s something that we can do,” Bellm comments.

Bellm comes off a challenging Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals weekend.

“We hurt our best motor on Friday and then drew terrible on Saturday,” the driver of the Bybee Lawn Care/Dynotech Racing Engines machine explained.  “We got going in the B on Saturday and I thought we would make it, but then it rubbered up so we were just riding at that point.”

With a $15,000 winner’s share and $2,000 just to make Saturday’s main event, it could be just the finish that Bellm and the Scheaffer’s Oil entry are looking for to finish off a stellar rookie effort on the National trail.

Up Next: I-30 Speedway’s 28th Annual Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, AR, with the STN Open on Wednesday, a Friday qualifying night and the Saturday finale.
