Battle Your Favorite Drivers at the Fast Eddies Snowball Showdown

Pensacola, FL – The “Snowball Showdown” pits drivers, fans, team members and media members in a battle for on-track karting supremacy, and on Thursday, December 3 it returns for its 16th year at Fast Eddies Fun Center in Pensacola, Florida. While the event is meant for fun, there’s plenty of intensity with a prize of $251 on the line.

The “Snowball Showdown” is an annual karting race event held at Fast Eddies Fun Center in conjunction with the Snowball Derby. Registration begins at 7:00 p.m. with the “Snowball Showdown” starting at 8:00 p.m. The race will take place on Fast Eddies SuperKart Speedway. The entry fee is $12.00 plus $8.00 for each race entered. There will be 10-lap heat races, semi-finals and a 20-lap feature race. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-three finishers. All participants must be at least 16 years of age with valid I.D.

In addition to the Snowball Showdown, there will a Snowball Derby driver’s race at 7 p.m. and another for all Media in attendance beginning at 7:15 p.m. (Members of the media will be allowed practice time on the track beginning at 6:45 p.m. There is no charge for participating in the media or driver events).

“The Snowball Showdown is always a great time,” said Bob Dillner, Executive Editor of Speed51.com and a the 2008 Snowball Showdown winner. “While everyone wants to win, especially with some money on the line, this event is more about just having fun and it always delivers in that regard.”

The winner of the overall event will receive a check for $251 and a nice trophy as well. Second-place will receive $100 and the third-place finisher will be awarded $75.
