Stateline Speedway to Develop & Debut Sweeney RUSH Pro Mods in 2016 as an Affordable E-Mod Division
Pulaski, PA — As the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance embarks on its fourth season of operations in 2016, the Series is excited to add a fourth division under its banner. The RUSH Pro Mods, an E-Mod style car, will also feature the GM 604 & GM 602 crate engine as do RUSH sister divisions, Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds (602s only), and Pro Stocks. The Sweeney RUSH Pro Mods will begin its journey as a weekly division on Saturday nights at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY. Stateline will also continue under the Sweeney RUSH Late Model Weekly Series banner for the second straight year in 2016.
The RUSH Pro Mods will permit the Econo Mods that currently race at several tracks throughout the region to compete in the division for one year. The RUSH Pro Mods will utilize a Hoosier Tire rule along with RUSH’s $3.50 spec 91 pump gas and a spec shock package. A complete RUSH Pro Mod technical rules package will soon be released.
A $10,625 Weekly Series point fund has been posted for the inaugural season and will mirror and be formatted similar to RUSH’s other classes. The Pro Mod Weekly Championship program will award $10,025 with $3,000 to-win paying down to $250 for 15th for member drivers, and a $600 “Futures Cup” program will also be included (note: membership is only available for drivers running the GM 604 or 602 engine package). In addition, an inaugural RUSH Pro Mod “Manufacturers Night” will be held at Stateline Speedway later in the summer. As with all RUSH divisions, membership is optional; however, membership not only makes drivers eligible for the point funds, but also gives member drivers $100,000 of excess participant accident insurance.
“The Scott Family contacted us this fall about putting together a crate engine program for the E-Mods at Stateline,” explained Series Director Vicki Emig. “We think Stateline is a great place to grow this division, just as Sharon and Lernerville originally were with our Sportsman Modifieds, as there has always been a large bed of E-Mod racers throughout that immediate region. Over the years we’ve had E-Mod racers approach us about starting a series for them, and with the solid foundation under our other divisions as well as with Stateline, the timing is right.”
“The interest has been very high even before this official announcement,” continued Emig. “We’re really looking forward to bringing all of the important elements of the RUSH Racing Series to the Pro Mod division. We believe the RUSH technical program, championship programs, and promotional opportunities will also help this class prosper and grow into the future just as we have seen with our other divisions.”
