VMRS Meeting
The general meeting was represented by 15 race teams where Wayne Wildermuth was introduced as Race Director for 2016, effective immediately. Mr. Wildermuth indicated he wants to bring professionalism back to the series and improve the image of the MRS and his staff.
Series Director Jack Bateman announced that no major changes were in the plans for 2016. Some teams voiced concern about the 18-degree engines lacking power on the larger tracks on the schedule. One solution might be the use of Tri-Y headers for the 18-degree engines. A decision will be made shortly after prices are investigated.
The popular twin 50s were the next subject and the 2016 schedule will have a total of 5 twin 50 events. The tracks running the twin 50 format will be Lee USA Speedway, Oxford Plains Speedway, and one event at Monadnock Speedway. Each 50 lap race will have a separate payoff and points. A $500 bonus will be paid if the same car wins both segments.
Finally, it was announced that $900 has been added to the purse. The increase will be towards the middle of the pack. The schedule and all updates can be found on the Modified Racing Series website, http://
