ACT to Attend Oxford 250 Weekend

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officially announced today that the two series have added a fourth doubleheader event to the 2016 schedule. The ACT Late Model Tour will now make a second visit to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway as part of Oxford 250 Weekend on August 26-28.

The Oxford Plains 100 for the ACT Late Model Tour will be held on Saturday, August 27, the night before the 43rd Oxford 250. The winner of the event will also receive a guaranteed provisional starting spot in the following day’s Oxford 250 for the PASS Super Late Models should they attempt to qualify. The event will count for points towards the $10,000-to-win 2016 ACT Championship and headlines a Saturday program which also includes the Valenti Modified Racing Series, PASS Modifieds, and Northeast Classic Lites.

“We’re really excited that ACT will come back to Oxford for a second event in 2016 – especially the night before the Oxford 250,” PASS President Tom Mayberry said. “Adding a guaranteed starting spot for the 250 should add a lot of excitement to the event. We think that adding ACT to the program, especially in conjunction with the other series we have, will bring a lot of momentum back to the Oxford 250.”

The schedule addition comes on the heels of a date change for another ACT/PASS twin bill. The “Showdown in the Mountains” at N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park, which will feature 150-lap events for both the ACT Late Models and PASS North Super Late Models, has been moved to Saturday, July 23 from its original August 20 date.

The 13-race 2016 ACT Late Model Tour schedule opens with the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 10 and concludes at Connecticut’s Thompson Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 15. In between, the Tour will visit 11 different tracks throughout the Northeastern United States. ACT/PASS doubleheaders will also be held at Oxford on Sunday, April 17 and at Scarborough, ME’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on September 17-18 as part of New England 500 Weekend.
