Reigning NASCAR Truck Series Champion, Erik Jones, to Run a Handful of Late Model Races with KBR Development
Holland, MI (February 4, 2016) KBR Development announced today that 2015 NASCAR Truck Series Champion, Erik Jones, will be behind the wheel of one of their Template Super Late Models in 2016. Jones, who is coming off a phenomenal 2015 season will be piloting a Super Late Model housed by KBR for an undisclosed number of events in conjunction with his NASCAR Xfinity schedule.
Jones is no stranger to working with KBR Development owners Mike Bursley and Zach Dunson. The trio teamed up in 2015 at the Battle @ Berlin 251. An event that Jones went on to win with Bursley and Dunson filling the roles as crew chief and car chief respectively. The Battle @ Berlin 251 win along with the Redbud 300 and Winchester 400 allowed Jones to be the first driver to ever capture the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown.
“I just love racing late models, so anytime I get an opportunity to race one it’s hard to say no.” Jones stated. “I currently have some dates open on the schedule that will allow me to participate in some late model events. The success Bursley, Dunson, and myself had working together last year along with the program these guys have put together will make us hard to beat. I’m very confident about our partnership and am looking forward to getting to the racetrack with them.”
Jones will make his Super Late Model debut with the KBR team June 13th at the Battle @ Berlin 251 located in Marne, MI. A full late model schedule is currently in the process of being finalized and will be released at a later date.
