Call Before You Dig 811 Challenge Returns to Stafford Speedway; Distributing $4,055 Contingency Bonus in 2016

Stafford Springs, CT — For the fourth consecutive season, Call Before You Dig will partner with Stafford Motor Speedway to offer one of the most unique contingency awards in all of short track racing.  The CBYD 811 Challenge will award a total of $4,055 that will be split evenly among 5 drivers this season.  CBYD has distributed $12,165 split up evenly among 15 drivers during the past three seasons and this year’s CBYD 811 Challenge will bring the total contribution up to $16,220.

The CBYD 811 Challenge is open to drivers from each of Stafford’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions and a special points system is used to determine the five drivers who will each receive an $811 bonus.  Drivers earn 100 points for a victory, and each subsequent position is worth 5 points less.  The CBYD 811 Challenge will begin with the 45th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler on April 22-24 and wraps up on August 5 with the Stafford 150 feature events.  The five drivers who come the closest to accumulating 811 points without going over during that time period will each take home an $811 bonus from CBYD.

“Everyone here at Call Before You Dig has been very pleased with the amount of exposure we’ve received through the 811 Challenge,” said Derek Brown, Vice President of Damage Prevention and Education for Call Before You Dig.  “We have a new ticket management system in place and the CBYD 811 Challenge is a great way for us  to be able to get the word out about that online system.  It’s also a great program that provides tons of excitement through being open to drivers from all five of the weekly divisions instead of focusing on a particular division.  Everyone here has a lot of fun keeping tabs on the 811 points standings from week to week and we’re looking forward to another great year of competition on the track at Stafford and an exciting points race to be able to award five more drivers the CYBD 811 Challenge $811 bonus on August 12th.”

Last year’s CBYD 811 Challenge winners were Matt Galko from the SK Modified® division, Geoff Boisjolie, and Tony Membrino, Jr. from the SK Light division, Kelsey Rottino from the Ltd. Late Model division, and Nicole Chambrello from the DARE Stock division.  The 2014 CBYD 811 Challenge winners were Ryan Preece, David Arute, Austin Bessette, David Comeau, and Brandon Michael, and the 2013 CBYD 811 Challenge winners were Eric Berndt, Justin Bren, Ted Christopher, Todd Owen, and Cliff Saunders, making 15 different winners in the first three seasons of the CBYD 811 Challenge.  Highlighting the unique and unpredictable nature of the CBYD 811 Challenge, there has yet to be a winner from the Late Model division while there have been 5 SK Modified® winners, 2 SK Light winners, 5 Ltd. Late Model winners, and 3 DARE Stock winners.

CBYD has launched a new ticket management system for 2016.  The new system will utilize the latest technology to improve the efficiency and user friendliness.  CBYD will still maintain a call center to take either 811 or 800-922-4455 phone calls, but the preferred contact method will be via the website www.cbyd.com. Features of the new system will include a re-engineered ticket format, ability for mobile ticket entry for iPhone, tablets, or other mobile devices, the ability for the user to draw on a map showing the proposed work area, and a confirmation method that will be emailed to the user for documentation of their mark out request.  A big change is that homeowners will now be able to self-register online and request an E-Ticket for any excavation.  Once a user has become registered, that unique user will have a username and password and the system will retain your data to pre-populate information and expedite any subsequent ticket requests.  Anyone who has registered for E-Tickets will have the ability to search for previous tickets.  There will also be many help tools to make the process as easy as possible.  For more information go to www.cbyd.com.
