Forler Flies to CSP Victory Lane

PEORIA, Ariz. (March 12, 2016) – Logan Forler flew to his second American Sprint Car Series Southwest Region victory in a row by wiring the field in Saturday night’s season-opening opening event atop the 1/3-mle Canyon Speedway Park clay oval

While the Washington native bested the ASCS Southwest Sprint Car ranks, other CSP Season Opener winners included Bubba Stafford in IMCA Modifieds, Chuck Thornton in Hobby Stock action, Ed Schule in Dwarf Cars and Paul Martin in Micro Sprints.

Orting, WA, native Logan Forler started on the front row outside and fought off 11th-starter Dusty Zomer from South Dakota to take ASCS Southwest Sprint Car honors ahead of J.T. Imperial with 16th-starter Wes Wofford and wingless ace R.J. Johnson rounding out the top five.

In Arizona Differential IMCA Modified action, Bubba Stafford, Jr., made the most of his front row outside starting position by racing to victory lane ahead of Joey Moriarty and NASCAR drop-in Kenny Wallace, who made his way to the show position after starting tenth.

Chuck Thornton capitalized on the pole starting position in IMCA Hobby Stocks vs. Renegades presented by Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive action by taking the checkered flag ahead of Jacob Madrid and Jason Crowe.

In Dwarf Car action, Ed Schule raced from 12th to post his second CSP win in a row ahead of 10th-starter Cory Brown and Robert Atencino while Paul Martin rallied from ninth to win the Micro Sprint feature ahead of Kyle Huttenhow and Ryan Walter.

Action continues at Canyon Speedway Park with the Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday night, March 26, featuring the USAC Southwest non-wing Sprint Cars along with Western Mod-Lites, Micro Sprints, and IMCA Sport Modifieds.
