Four Qualifying Races Announced for Seekonk US National Pro Stock Race

SEEKONK, Mass. — Gary Sagar and Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment have announced that four races across New England will carry big implications on the July 13  U.S. PROSTOCK/SUPER LATE MODEL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE at the ‘Action Track of the East’, Seekonk Speedway.

Prior to the Wednesday night spectacular, the winners of those four races will receive a guaranteed starting spot (at least a provisional) in the 200 lap feature event.

The 200 lap race will showcase PROSTOCK/SUPER LATE MODEL talent from across the Northeast region, including stars of the Pro All Star Series (PASS), the Seekonk Speedway and Granite State Pro Stock Series.
The first qualifier event will be part of the Granite State Pro Stocks’ appearance at Monadnock Speedway on May 28. The winner of the GSPSS 150 lap feature will give themselves a spot in the championship showdown, one that falls in the middle of a week where the Granite State Series is off from racing for the weekend both before and after.

The second qualifying event takes place at Wiscassett Speedway in Wiscassett, Maine on June 4. The 50 lap Pro Stock feature showcasing the top Wiscassett talent will be a battle to see who can head south to Seekonk in July with some weight off their shoulders knowing they will have a spot in the talented field.

The third qualifier will occur at Seekonk on June 18. That night, Seekonk will run their weekly racing slate with round one of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series. The 75 lap Pro Stock special — in honor of the late Brad Scott — will bring in drivers from across New England hoping to use the event as a tune-up for the 200, with the winner locking themselves into the ‘Big Dance’.

The final qualifying event will be on June 25 at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine. The track will hold a special Pro Stock Series 125 lap feature event, with the winner that night punching their ticket just a few weeks prior to the main event.

The following rules have been put in place for the drivers that win the four qualifying races:

  • The winners of the specified events must be legal under the rules of the track division that they won with.
  • If the winner of a specified race elects not to attend the 200 lap race, track management where the race was held can make a decision on who will be locked in.
  • In order for the winner to race in the 200 lap Pro Stock/Super Late Model National Championship Race, they must comply with all rules put forth by the officials of the special event.
  • The locked-in drivers must attempt to qualify into the field through the traditional preliminary process. If they do not qualify in through the regular night’s action, they will be awarded a provisional and placed at the tail of the field for the main event green flag.

“These four races are a way to give additional competitors an opportunity to participate,” event promoter Gary Sagar said. “However, this is also a chance to create some extra excitement with the hopes of increasing the attendance of the teams and fans.”

The format for the race on July 13 will be released no later than April 5. Drivers and teams with questions about the event should contact Sagar at 508-728-8835, 800-252-6830or gary@krazespeedequipment.net
