U.S. Pro Stock Super Late Model National Championship Race Coming to Seekonk
Seekonk, MA- On Wednesday July 13th at Seekonk Speedway, it will be the US Pro Stock Super Late Model National Championship race. The race will be 200 laps where it will be 2 100 lap segments. Gary Sagar president of Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment in conjunction with Seekonk Speedway will put on this event. Segar grew up at Seekonk has he’s been going there for 56 years. Sagar has promoted other events at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME and also at Seekonk Speedway and he felt it made sense to do a national championship race at Seekonk. The track wanted to have a big Pro Stock event and Segar approached the track and told them he would put on the event and Seekonk was very enthusiastic about it and very supportive about it. The winner of the event will go home with $10,000 dollars.
The New England Pro 4 Modifieds and the Nick Pit Stop Legends will be apart of the program. Sagar has been involved with New England Pro 4 Modifieds as he owns a car in the division. For that night, Sagar believes it will give three different styles of racing and that it will give a lot of variety to the program.
Sagar has received a lot of positive feedback on the event. He went up to the Racin Preview in Portland, ME and the Frank Maratta Auto Show & Race-A-Rama at the The Big E in West Springfield, MA. They announced at these shows that there will be guaranteed starting positions at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday night June 4th, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday June 25th and on Saturday night May 28th at the Monadnock Speedway when the Granite State Pro Stock Series makes their first of two appearances.
Sagar is in discussions to bring up a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series or NASCAR Xfinity Series driver. Sagar felt the date was right where it would lead up to NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Seekonk is the only race track in New England with coliseum seating where it can hold 14,000 people and Segar is hoping to fill the place for this event. General Admission Tickets for the event will be $25.
Sagar had a group of people that he had selected to do the rules for this event. The rules for this event are very open and very generic. Segar has heard nothing but positive comments about them. Mainely Motorsports TV will also represent a $200 dollar bonus to Pro Stock/Super Late Model team that race at Beech Ridge and Wiscasset Speedway that plan to run the event on Wednesday July 13th.
The race purse and format for the race will be released by Tuesday April 5th.
