Wyatt Alexander Looking Forward To A Busy 2016 Season
Wyatt Alexander will have a busy 2016 season as he is planning to run his own family car in select events at Wiscasset Speedway, Oxford Plains Speedway, and on the Granite State Pro Stock Series. He will also be driving a car for Colby Motorsports in select PASS events.
An event that Alexander is looking forward to is the debut of the Granite State Pro Stock Series coming to Maine at Wiscasset on Labor Day weekend. “ Yes, I am definitely excited about Granite State coming to my home track. That is always an advantage to a driver. There aren’t too many tracks we will be running that I haven’t been on before but we are toying with the idea of running a race with PASS South and also there will be a couple new tracks we will hit with Granite State.” Alexander Said
With the Oxford 250 being one of the biggest short track events in the country with its rich history of many different drivers running the event for over 4 decades. As of March 18th over 20 teams have entered for the Oxford 250 coming up in August. Alexander believes the 250 is always competitive. “ It’s never an easy race to get into but with more big names coming from all over and good car counts it is certainly as tough as ever.”
It is one of Alexander’s goals this season to qualify for the Oxford 250.
Last year was more of a climb for Alexander and his team. He started off the year at Wiscasset quite competitive but didn’t have the results to show for it due to mechanical failures, racing incidents, and mistakes on and off the race track. The team was still learning but a little past halfway through the season. Alexander hit his stride and he picked up the win in the Boss Hog 100 at Wiscasset Speedway last summer. The momentum would carry on for Alexander as he would a couple more podiums and earn Rookie of The Year in the Pro Stock division at Wiscasset.
“ Although we didn’t qualify for the 250 this year (last August). We were certainly competitive which gave me a lot of confidence.”
Alexander is working on bringing more marketing partners for the 2016 season but he will have MH Humphrey & Sons/Puzzled Racing, Speedway Sports Park, Coastal Maine Realty, FV Resolute, Adams Landscaping, & RF Jordans and Sons on board for this season.
Alexander’s goals for the 2016 season are to compete for wins at Wiscasset and to be fairly competitive in the different touring races he enters in. Fans can check out Wyatt Alexander Racing on Facebook for updates.
