JDM Announces Exciting New Partnership & Details for 2nd Annual Car Show
JD Motorsports and Ross Chastain Want You to ‘Protect Your Melon’
New Partnership Between JDM and the Delaware Office Of Highway Safety
GAFFNEY, S.C. – JD Motorsports Wednesday announced a new partnership with the Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) that will promote safe driving all over the state of Delaware.
The No. 4 Chevrolet of Ross Chastain will carry the familiar theme of “Protect Your Melon” for the Dover International Speedway Xfinity Series race Saturday. May 14. The partnership will continue for the Xfinity Series Drive Sober 200 race Saturday, October 1, at Dover.
“As a race team we spend a lot of time on the road,” said team owner Johnny Davis, “And it is almost a daily occurrence to see someone not obeying the rules of the road and to see people young and old not wearing their seat belts. I am very thankful that OHS has chosen us to help share their message, and I believe that it will help save some lives.”
“We are thrilled to reconnect with the passionate NASCAR fans that identify with our ‘Buckle Up!’ message on a daily basis,” said Lisa Flowers, Community Relations Officer for OHS. “Buckle Up! as part of NHTSA’s Click It or Ticket campaign isn’t about the citations; it’s about saving lives. The spring NASCAR Xfinity Series race provides the opportunity to strengthen OHS’ message by reminding drivers and passengers to “Click It or Ticket It – Buckle Up!”
OHS will employ a comprehensive marketing approach to engage with racing enthusiasts and loyal NASCAR fans through on-track, hands-on, traditional, digital and social media messaging during the 2016 NASCAR season. The partnership also includes marketing and promotion efforts with Dover Motorsports, JHE Productions and Melon 1.
“This partnership is extra exciting to me because OHS and JDM have found a way to promote two causes that are closest to my heart — safe driving and agriculture,” said Ross Chastain. “We have a lot of ideas for the ‘Protect Your Melon’ campaign that will get the fans at Dover involved. I can’t wait to see more watermelons at the track, and more people wearing seatbelts everywhere.”
Watermelons labeled with “Protect your Melon” and “#BuckleUp” will be in grocery stores and farmers markets throughout Delaware from May to June. From July until September, the watermelons will focus on a “#DriveSober” message as part of a DUI awareness campaign. +
