Stafford Speedway Drivers Take Home $4,500 In Contingency Bonuses From 45th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®

Stafford Springs, CT — During Stafford Speedway’s 45th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®, drivers weren’t just racing for points and a trophy, they were also racing to take home a piece of the $4,500 in contingency bonuses that were posted for the weekend event.

“Our contingency program has grown by leaps and bounds over the years and we’re hopeful to continue to grow and expand the program for our competitors,” said Mark Arute, Stafford Speedway COO/GM.  “We are currently on track to pay over $50,000 in contingency money for the 2016 season.  I’d like to thank each and every one of our contingency partners for making this possible at Stafford Speedway.”

The $4,500 came from Stafford’s Contingency Program as well as several other special event contingencies that were posted for the NAPA Spring Sizzler®.  The leading contributor to the Spring Sizzler® contingency was NAPA Auto Parts.  NAPA gave a bonus of $45 to each starter in the SK Modified® field to commemorate the Sizzler’s® 45th annual running.  With 30 cars starting the race, NAPA contributed $1,350 to SK Modified® drivers.  Other SK Modified® contingency bonuses were supplied by Dunleavy’s Truck and Trailer Repair, Maybury Material Handling, Call Before You Dig, Casagrande Builders, and New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand.  As a special contingency bonus, Ron Johnston from Speedway Service offered a $100 bonus to the race winner.

Stafford’s Late Model division had contingency bonuses from Mr. Rooter Plumbing, New England Racing Fuel,  Sunoco Brand, and a $50 bonus from Ron Johnston to the feature winner.  Another special contingency that was available during the weekend was a $100 bonus from Bill and Jayne Boulay for the best-appearing car, which was awarded to Joel Monahan, driver of the #03 Late Model.

SK Light Modified drivers took home contingency bonuses from Dunleavy’s Truck and Trailer Repair, Maybury Material Handling, On Time Accounting, Olson Apartments, and New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand.  Limited Late Model drivers received bonuses from Mr. Rooter Plumbing and New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand, and DARE Stock drivers were racing for bonus money from Paradiso Financial & Insurance, Jeff Ramsey Carpentry, and New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand.

The contingency payouts continued with bonus payouts to last seasons Rookies of the Year as well as the runners-up in Rookie of the Year.  The R.O.Y. partners from 2015 were SPAFCO, Magnus Transmissions, R.A.D. Automachine, and T/A Engines.
