New England Race Fuels Joins New London Waterford Speedbowl As a Title Sponsor

WATERFORD — While attending the season opener at New London-Waterford Speedbowl last weekend, John Holland of New England Racing Fuels enjoyed what he saw.

He enjoyed it so much, he decided to get more involved with the racing program.  As a result, the Late Model division at the Speedbowl has a new title sponsor.

Starting Saturday, the division will be known as the Sunoco Late Models. A Late Model driver each week will receive a certificate for five gallons of Sunoco Racing Fuel.

“I was down at the Speedbowl last weekend and I was really excited with all the improvements,” Holland said. “I was really impressed. And not just with the physical improvements, but with the attitude of everyone there. Bruce Bemer, the track owner, has done a great job, but it’s not just him. It’s the entire staff.”

So Holland contacted Speedbowl GM-Promoter Shawn Monahan about how he  could contribute.

“I called Shawn and said I wanted to do something extra,” Holland said. “I asked him where we could fit in, and this is what we came up with.”

Holland says he’s pleased to be involved with the Speedbowl Late Models.

“”It’s a fun division, with a lot of hard chargers,” Holland said. “And the gift certificate won’t just go to the winner of the race. We want to help as many drivers as we can.”

A random draw held after the race will determine who gets the certificate.

“If there’s an area in which we can help, we’re all for it,” Holland said.

New England is involved in all three state race tracks. It sponsors the Sunoco Modifieds at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and is a major contingency sponsor, helping out all the divisions, at Stafford Motor Speedway.

New England is the latest title sponsor at the Speedbowl, joining the Micro Blue Bandoleros, the Magnus Racing Product SK Lights, the Joie of Seating Lends and the Coastline Fire Protection Super X Cars.
