Casey Smith to Iowa with Green Light Racing Truck Team
AUSTIN, TX. — Casey Smith will team with Green Light Racing and Niece Equipment Company for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, June 18th at Iowa Speedway. This will mark Smith’s initial NCWTS start.
The 30-year-old, Austin, TX. native is a highly-touted Super Late Model Star. Smith was the champion of the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco in 2015 with two victories, 8 Top-5’s and 13-Top 10 Finishes.
“This is an opportunity for me and the whole Green Light Racing team to score a solid run at Iowa,” said Smith. “I’m grateful for the team and Niece Equipment Company allowing me the chance to go Truck racing.”
Green Light Racing owner, Bobby Dotter, is looking forward to having Smith drive the no. 07 Truck at Iowa Speedway.
“I have followed Casey since 2004, when he was running the ASA National Tour Series,” said Dotter. “Having a driver like Casey in our truck that can give us a solid feel, we are confident for a top-10 finish. We’re thrilled that he and Niece has (Equipment Company) joined us for the event.”
