Seekonk to Host Guaranteed Starter Race Saturday Night

Seekonk, MA—With two guaranteed starter races completed and two still to be contested, the inaugural U.S. Prostock/Super Late Model National Championship Race is one month away and race teams throughout the Northeast are showing interest in the $10,000 to-win 200-lap event.

The first-ever event is scheduled Wednesday night, July 13, at the famed Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, Massachusetts, with a rain date the next evening if needed.

The first guaranteed starter to capitalize on the opportunity was Springfield, MA, veteran Mike O’Sullivan when he won the 100-lap ‘Monadnock 100’ at the New Hampshire Speedway in May.

O’Sullivan was the 2013 Granite State Pro-Stock Series champion and a two-time Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park champion.

Joining O’Sullivan as a guaranteed competitor is 16-year old Wyatt Alexander, of Ellsworth, Maine. Like many who cut their teeth racing Karts throughout the country, Alexander won the popular ‘Boss Hog 100’ at Wiscasset, Maine, in 2015.  This season he nabbed a 50-lap feature race at Wiscasset on June 4.

Saturday night June 18, the winner of the 75-lap Brad Scott Memorial, Race # 1 of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown at Seekonk will be a guaranteed starter.

The fourth and final race to produce a guaranteed starter is slated for June 25, at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine. The race is the Pro Series 125.

The INEX Legends cars and Pro-4 Modifieds will also be in action at Seekonk event next month.

Gates will open at 4:00 PM with Time Trials at 4:30PM and Post Time slated for 6:00 PM.
