Strunk, Henn and Schutz Lead NASCAR Standings at Grandview Speedway
BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 3, 2016 . . . Two of the three battles for NASCAR point titles at Grandview Speedway had changes in the top spot as a result of Saturday night race finishes.
Ten time TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified champion Jeff Strunk took a step toward his 11th title with a strong second place finish on Saturday night in the 30-lap main event. Strunk moved to the top spot ahead of Craig VonDohren, another multi-time champion, who had a tough night and finished 17th in the feature race. Strunk now has 2657 counters while VonDohren sits with 2636. Mike Gular holds third with 2476 points.
Young Jordan Henn continues to lead the battle for the NASCAR Sportsman division title with 1925 points while Brian Hirthler sits with 1794. Craig Whitmoyer is third with 1780 counters.
Multi-time champion Chuck Schutz, the defending titleholder, moved to the front of the point standings with the BRC NASCAR Late Models as he won the Saturday feature, his third of the season, increasing his point total to 1870. Second is held by veteran racer Lou Egrie Sr. with 1800 points.
Next on the schedule will be the big event of the season for the BRC Late Models as they take part in the Firecracker 40 being sponsored by Chapman Ford Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Horsham, PA. In addition to the Late Models racing for increased prize money the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be in action along with the Sportsman stock cars. Topping off the night will be the annual FIREWORKS display.
Adult admission for the Saturday, July 9th tripleheader is $25 while youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5. Kids under 6 are admitted free. Active military with proper ID are admitted Free.
The weekly driver Meet and Greet starts at 5 p.m. at the main gate. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
