Evergreen Raceway Adds Three Karting Events
St. Johns, PA (7/6/2016)- For the first time in years, Evergreen Raceway held two Karting divisions in conjunction with their Independence Enduros last Sunday. The interest was there and due to input from the teams on hand, the speedway has decided to add three Karting events to their season schedule.
“It’s great for the little kids and little kids at heart”, noted speedway co-promoter Gene Ostrowski.
“It’s a win-win. They’re excited about racing on the Daytona of Karting tracks and everyone at the track was thrilled with the show that they put on. Plus, they are truly the future of our sport.”
There will be two divisions that will race in conjunction with the track’s Enduros on the following race days: Sunday, August 7, Sunday, September 4 and Sunday, October 2.
The divisions are Youth Caged and Junior/Adult Caged. The rules can be found by clicking the rules tab on the speedway website.
There will be a $15 pit entry fee per Kart team member for pit entry and the Kart race registration is set at $10. The track transponder system will be used for scoring. Each division will run a 5-lap heat race, followed by a 12-lap feature.
The top 5 in each Kart division will receive a trophy as long as they pass post race tech.
The next Evergreen Raceway event is slated for Sunday, July 10 with the Evergreen Modifieds, Late Models, Factory Stocks and Four Cylinders, PLUS Kids Big Wheel Races.
Grandstand admission is just $8. Children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult. Pit gates will open at 10:30 AM. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and the first heat race will roll out at 2:00 PM. The grandstands open at noon.
Evergreen Raceway is located minutes from Hazleton, PA, in between routes 93 and 309.
