Grandview Speedway Point Standings as of August 7, 2016
All Three Divisions of NASCAR Stock Car Racing at Grandview Speedway Have Tight Point Battles with Just Four Point Races Left in the 2016 Season
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 7, 2016 . . . The battle for the track and NASCAR championships in each division of stock car racing at Grandview Speedway could very well go down to the final events of the season. Just four nights of point racing remain on the 2016 schedule.
Defending champion and current point leader Craig VonDohren sits on top of the standings in the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds with 3388 points and three feature victories. Surprising everyone is veteran Mike Gular who has tallied 3278 points without benefit of a feature win. And in third spot is ten time champion Jeff Strunk, a winner this pastSaturday, with 3209 points and two wins.
In the BRC Late Model division defending champion Chuck Schutz is in front with 2790 counters and three wins while Dave Ogin, without a feature win, sits second with 2672 points. Veteran Wayne Pfeil is third with 2509 points and a feature win to his credit.
Mike Lisowski has moved in front of the Sportsman standings with 2379 points and twin wins while Jordan Henn, who had led the standings for much of the season, sits second with 2373 points and one win, just 6 points out of first. Third is held by Brian Hirthler with 2288 points and no wins while Craig Whitmoyer is fourth with one win to his credit and 2263 points.
All three divisions are in action this Saturday, August 13th, when the Pioneer Pole Buildings Forrest Rogers Memorial is presented. This is a rich classic for the NASCAR Modifieds with at least $10,000 going to the winner. Craig VonDohren won the event last year. The Sportsman and BRC Late Models will be part of the tripleheader show that gets the green at 7:30 p.m.
The weekly Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will take place in the main gate area at 5 p.m. and will feature all racers that carry Pioneer Pole Buildings sponsorship. Included are Modified talents Craig VonDohren and Kevin Hirthler, Sportsman racer Brian Hirthler and Late Model point leader Chuck Schutz.
Adult tickets are priced at $25 for Saturday night while youngsters, 6 thru 11, pay $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
Advance tickets for the $25,000 to win Freedom 76 set for September 10th will be on sale at the track along with $20 lap sponsorships.
