This Week Ahead: Sportsman Series Teams Can Qualify for Crate Motor Lottery

602 GM crate engine giveaway

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Aug. 14, 2016 – DIRTcar and Chevy Performance will once again be giving away a 602 GM crate engine with a drawing for eligible Sportsman Series competitors at the 2016 Awards Banquet.

Twelve drivers will have their name entered into the lottery after each Sportsman Series event. When the points are updated after each race, the drivers that hold the top twelve spots in the latest series standings qualify.

There are no limitations on the number of times a driver can have their name “thrown in the hat.” There are 16 point-counting races in the DIRTcar NE Sportsman Series. If a competitor is in the top 12 in points after each event, their name will be entered in the lottery 16 times.

“We’re glad that GM is participating and helping us once again with this program for the Sportsman class which is very important to us for the future of DIRTcar racing,” said Mike Perrotte, DIRTcar NE Series Director. “It’s a great opportunity to give back to those that are following the series.”

Brad Rouse won the Series opener at Fulton Speedway on April 29th. Michel Richard won event number two at Drummond, QUE on July 16th. Shane Pecore won event number three at Granby, QUE on July 27th

The DIRTcar NE Sportsman Series returns to action at Ransomville Speedway on Friday, Sept. 9th.
