Mother Nature Sweeps ASCS Gulf South Weekend
KILGORE, Texas (August 19, 2016) Mother Nature wins again with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Southern Trailer Works. With heavy rain already claiming Friday night at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, events at the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas on Saturday, August 20 have now been called off due to continued wet weather.
Press from the Lone Star Speedway stated, “The ASCS Gulf South Sprint Cars are rained out, along with the complete racing program, for Saturday, August 20. No racing will take place at Lone Star Speedway this weekend in any division. We have received too much rain to dry out – especially since there is little to no Sun drying time forecast between now and then.”
With the weekend washout, this leaves only two nights remaining on the 2016 lineup for the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Southern Trailer Works.
Saturday, September 3 will see action at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas. The season will wrap up on Sunday, September 4 at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas.
Both night will offer teams $3,000 to win, $310 to start A-Features with a $1,000 bonus to sweep the weekend thanks to Challenger Drilling and Cooper Racing.
The ASCS Gulf South Region is powered by: Griffith Truck and Equipment, Southern Trailer Works, Momentum Suspension Systems, All Star Auto Reconditioning, LLC, Waco Metals, Lawrence Towing, Carl and J.J.
