Sweet Taste of Victory Still Fresh on Sargeant’s Mind

Concord, North Carolina (September 8, 2016) – Despite missing the last two ARCA races, Dalton Sargeant’s last start is still fresh in his mind. Sargeant drove to victory lane in his last series start at Berlin Raceway earning his first career win in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

Reuniting with his Venturini Motorsports team, Sargeant returns to the seat ready to pilot his No.55 Toyota Racing Development – Windows 10 Camry in ARCA’s Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic presented by Meadow View/Salem Crossing 200 at Salem Speedway on Saturday, September 10.

Sargeant, a leading candidate for ARCA’s SCOTT Brand Rookie of the Year honors, finished third in his first appearance at Salem Speedway earlier in the year. So far, in an abbreviated 2016 campaign, the Boca Raton (Fl.) native has notched one win, eight top-5 and 10 top-10 finishes in just 11-series starts.

“I’m more than ready,” says Sargeant after being asked if he’s ready for his Salem return. “It seems like an eternity since we drove away with our win at Berlin. I’ve been waiting a long time to get back together with my guys. We tasted victory once, now I’m ready to get back to work and hopefully get another one for them this weekend.”

The upcoming Salem event marks the 100th ARCA Racing Series race at Salem since the tour debuted on the legendary high-banked half-mile track in 1955. No track has appeared more on ARCA’s schedule over the tour’s 64-year history than Salem.

“It’s a thrill going back to Salem – the track is just so cool and fun to drive – if Saturday night’s race is anything like the Spring one we’re in for a great show. I’m excited to part of Salem’s big night,” added Sargeant.

Sargeant will join teammates Christopher Bell, Tom Hessert, and Zane Smith for the historic 100th ARCA race at Salem.

Venturini Motorsports with 41 all-time ARCA Series victories has five team wins at Salem Speedway (Billy Venturini ’06, Steve Arpin ’10, Brennan Poole ’11, Kyle Benjamin ’13 and Christopher Bell ’16). Venturini Motorsports is tied for second with Harold Steele on the all-time ARCA Series team victory list. Larry Clement, who was teamed with Frank Kimmel for many years, leads the way with 71 team victories.

Golf Scramble, Hauler Parade, Friday Night Fan Fest
The Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 presented by Meadow View/Salem Crossing tops off two full days of celebration that kicks-off on Friday, Sept. 9 with a Golf Scramble, Hauler Parade and evening Fan Fest at the track.
