Stout Field Ready for 2016 Season Finale at Five Flags

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The final race for the 2016 Southern Super Series and Blizzard Series at Five Flags Speedway is set to be wide open with many drivers believing they have what it takes to take home the final trophy in Pensacola before the 49th Snowball Derby.

Jeff Choquette has become a master at Five Flags in the Allen Turner Pro Late Models this season and is confident that his momentum can carry on into this coming Saturday.

“Hopefully we can carry the momentum over from the Pro and it can translate into the Super. I always think our chances are always really good we put a lot of effort into the program, I think we got a good shot no matter where we go.”

He does agree that there are a large number of drivers that can be dangerous to take on Saturday, including Blizzard Series co-points leader Casey Roderick.

“There’s probably 20 cars that are capable of winning at any time. Casey (Roderick) has been really strong down there all year. I think he’s the one that everybody’s chasing in the Blizzard Series.”

Roderick along with co-points leader Zane Smith will have plenty more to deal with from the Southern Super Series field, including Garrett Jones who is still strong off a victory across the state line at Mobile.

“I’m excited to get back to Pensacola. We’re going back with something like we had at Mobile. My crew chief and I are very excited about it, because everyone thinks Mobile and Pensacola are very close racetrack wise. Hopefully we can be as fast as we were, I’m really confident about it. We’re going to go down early and test, we’ve tested a lot lately and it’s a huge help.”

The weekend could be a chance for a break out performance for many promising talents including Kenzie Ruston, who is also set to use the race as a live test session for the Snowball Derby.

“We showed a lot of speed at Montgomery last week, I’m pretty excited. We got the car figured out for my liking anyway. I’m looking forward to it. Pensacola is one of my favorite tracks. Definitely going to be a tune-up for the Derby, it’s our next race after this one and that’s what we’re focused on.”
