$1,000 Bonus Added to Each Starter’s Pay-out at Winter Showdown
Concord, N.C. — The Coors Light/Speed51.com bonus is returning to the SRL Winter Showdown for the second straight year. The bonus will ensure that each of the 36 drivers in the scheduled- starting field for the Third Annual SRL Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway Park in California (Feb 8 – 11, 2017) will receive a minimum payout of $3,000.
The race itself pays out $2,000 to start. Coors Light is guaranteeing a bonus of an additional $1,000 to each starter in the 36-car field.
Eligibility for the Coors Light/Speed51.com bonus is simple. A Speed51.com decal has to be placed in a to-be-determined specific location on the race car. The decals will be provided by Speed51.com and Coors Light.
Since the start of the Winter Showdown’s brief history, the event promoters have found a way to make the event grow larger each year and have made it one of the biggest Super Late Model races in America. The hope is that the Coors Light/Speed51.com bonus is one way of helping the event to continue to expand in popularity.
“Our goal each and every year is to grow the Winter Showdown,” said Brian Olsen, one of the top brass from the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series “A lot of our teams travel great distances for the event and with the additional $1,000 taking the start money to $3,000, those additional travel costs will hopefully be covered. The 2017 Winter Showdown is shaping up to be a great event and with the increased start money, thanks to Speed51 and Coors Light, it should really help to attract even more teams.”
It is important to note that if, for any reason, the starting field is expanded beyond the original size, only the original 36 cars that made the race on time, transfer or provisional will be eligible for the bonus.
The Third Annual SRL Winter Showdown will take place February 8-11 at California’s Kern County Raceway Park.
