Battle for PASS North Championship Rolls to Star Speedway this Weekend

NAPLES, ME (September 29) – With the close of the 2016 season rapidly approaching, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models head to Star Speedway Saturday afternoon for the PASS Make-A-Wish 150.  The tough quarter-mile in Epping, NH always poses a tough test and this weekend’s PASS Make-A-Wish 150 should be no different.

With just two races left in the battle for the 2016 PASS North Super Late Model championship, Star Speedway could play a very interesting role in the title chase.  Center Conway, NH’s DJ Shaw leads a strong group of fellow Granite State drivers to Star as he seeks his second series title in the last three years.  Ironically, when he last won at Star Speedway with PASS in 2014, Shaw went on to win the championship.  And, while Shaw enjoys a 60 point advantage over six-time PASS North champion, Johnny Clark, he still has to survive the tight confines of Star before he can start thinking about cashing the championship check.  Clark just captured his first win of the season last weekend at another New Hampshire track, White Mountain Motorsports Park.

While the PASS Make-A-Wish 150 will have the eyes of the New England racing scene on it, that will not be the only big event on Saturday afternoon at Star Speedway.  The action packed 350 Supermodified cars will compete in a 35 lapper, along with the Dwarf Cars, Roadrunners, Woody’s Strictly, and Six Shooters.

Another strong field is expected on Saturday led by former Oxford 250 winners, Glen Luce, and Mike and Ben Rowe.   Defending PASS National Champion, Joey Doiron, will pilot the #21 for SPD racing and will be joined by Bryan Kruczek, Todd Stone, Dave Farrington, Jr., and Tracy Gordon, who are among the early entrants.

All the action gets under way with optional practice on Friday.  On Saturday, pit gates open at 11:45 AM, heat races start at 4:30 PM, with feature events to follow.  The complete weekend schedule can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com.

Entry forms for upcoming PASS North Super Late Model action at Star Speedway and Oxford Plains Speedway can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America’s premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway and PASS South’s Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway.  For technical information concerning all PASS divisions please send questions topassracing@roadrunner.com.  For media or marketing questions, please contact Alan Dietz at 704-231-2039 oralandietzpass@live.com.  And, don’t forget to “Like” the Pro All Stars Series on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @PASSSLM14 to keep up with breaking news as it happens.
