Analyzing the Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150 At CMS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will conclude it’s 2016 season Thursday at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Speedway with the running of the annual Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150. Below is a statistical look at the performance of selected drivers at the track.
Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150 Setup:
• Burt Myers enters this race with a 22-point lead over two-time defending champion Andy Seuss, while four-time champion George Brunnhoelzl III trails in third only four points behind Seuss.
• Myers and Brunnhoelzl III are the only drivers entered in this Thursday’s race to win at Charlotte. Myers has won three (2010, 2013, 2014) and Brunnhoelzl won twice in 2012 and 2015.
• Burt Myers, Jason Myers, Gary Putnam and Seuss are the only drivers entered in this event to start all six previous races at the North Carolina track.
• The Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam is run on the quarter-mile track along the frontstretch of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

History
• Construction began on Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1959.
• The track’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup race was held on June 19, 1960 – won by Joe Lee Johnson.
• The track was repaved midseason in 1994.
• The track’s name changed from Charlotte Motor Speedway to Lowe’s Motor Speedway in 1999. It changed back to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the 2010 season.
• The track was re-paved again before the 2006 season.
• There have been 113 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, two races per year since the track opened in 1960.
• The Charlotte quarter-mile track held its first NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race on Oct. 14, 2010 – won by Burt Myers.

Danny Bohn (No. 40 Dunleavy’s Truck & Trailer Repair/William Smith Trucking Chevrolet)
• The New Jersey native has four wins, seven poles, 26 top-five and 41 top-10 finishes in 50 career starts.
• Finished in the top 10 in the final standings each year from 2012-14 and competed part-time last year.
• Returned to full-time competition this season with Frank and Chris Fleming.

• Burt Myers made a late pass around Danny Bohn to pick up the season-opening win and 17th overall in his career in the southern tour.

• Burt Myers held off his brother Jason is winning the Dogwood 150 in the most recent race on the tour at Caraway in April. First time in his career he’s picked up two wins before the annual spring break.
• Andy Seuss picked up his first win of the season at Caraway Speedway. The two-time defending tour champion now has 12 wins at the track.
• Burt Myers held off his brother Jason to score his second career tour win at Bowman Gray Stadium and score his third win overall on the season.
• Kyle Ebersole finished just ahead of Andy Seuss in the NWMT/NWSMT combination race at Bristol to be the top placing southern tour regular which credits him with his third career win on the tour.
• Bobby Measmer Jr. won his first career tour race at East Carolina Motor Speedway when he won the weather-delayed Visit Martin County 150.
• James Civali returned to drive the Susan Hill owner Pontiac and picked up his first win of the season in just his third start driving part-time this season at South Boston Speedway
• George Brunnhoelzl III made a pass for the lead and held on to score his third win of the season in the Caraway 150 in the 60th race held at the track.
