Miss Snowball Derby 2016 Crowned at Beef O’Brady’s
Pensacola, FL — Miss Snowball Derby 2016 was crowned on Thursday night at Downtown Pensacola, Florida’s Beef O’Brady’s. More than 13 contestants turned out for the annual competition that was streamed live on Speed51.com.
The competition consisted of two rounds. The first round was the casual round, in which every contestant wore a casual outfit for the judges to see. The second round was the formal round, which saw every contestant wear a formal gown for the judges to see.
After both rounds were complete, every contestant was brought back on stage so three finalists could be named. Cam Davis, Miss Snowball Derby 2015, was also brought on stage to crown her successor.
At the end of competition, Raven Hammac was named Miss Snowball Derby 2016. Hammac, 23, from Pensacola, has grown up in racing circles, and said it’s a true honor to represent Five Flags Speedway (FL) and the 49th Annual Snowball Derby.
“This means everything to me,” Hammac said. “My dad raced at the dirt track when I was a kid. When I was about 12 or 13 we started going to Five Flags every Friday. I’ve been to every Snowball Derby. It’s just a way of life for us. To be Miss Snowball Derby means the world to me.”
