Claremont Releases 2017 Schedule
2017 Race Schedule Released
After much excitement and anticipation, Claremont Speedway is proud to release its upcoming 2017 race schedule. With twenty race event nights, it is sure to be an action-packed summer at the 1/3 mile asphalt oval. Six different touring series will pay a visit to the storied short track in addition to our 10 tour-type modified events as well as 20 events for our Super Street, Limited Sportsman, and Wildcat Divisions. Our Super Street Division could very well be one of the most competitive racing divisions in all the Northeast with the possibility of over 30 race teams attempting to qualify each week.
Two practice events are scheduled for April 15 and 22 for all four divisions. We will have scheduled Wednesday night practice sessions again on event weeks only. Opening night is April 28 with the 75 Lap Richardson Memorial Race for the Super Streets presented by Trackside Motorsport and Accessories. Our Modifieds, Limited, and Wildcats will also kick off their seasons as well.
The North East Mini Stock Tour pays the first of two visits to our speed plant on May 5 with a 50 green flag lap event in what many consider to be a tune-up for the biggest 4-cylinder event of the year in September. Last year over thirty cars started the event in July. We will again be hosting the ever-popular spectator drag races on May 19.
The month of June is bookended by two long-time touring series with a unique circumstance in the middle. The Granite State Pro Stock Series will battle for 100 laps on June 2 and the Senior Tour Auto Racers will bring the stars and cars of yesterday in what is a nostalgic event at the speedway. On June 16 a yet-to-be-announced event is scheduled and promoted as the “Surprise Race”. More details will be available in the near future but this event is sure to pique the interest of auto racing fans in the Northeast.
The month of July will have the Valenti Modified Racing Series, the Northeast’s Premier Touring Series, getting back to its roots on July 7 with 100 laps of high-horsepower thunder and on July 28 the Northeast Classic Lites, also known as Dwarf Cars with 600cc motorcycle engines, will go three-wide in the corners and sure to put on a show.
In September we will be hosting New England Auto Racing on the 1st and on the 15th, the North East Mini Stock Tour is hosting the 4-Cylinder Nationals with $ 1,500 to win and an $ 8,000 purse plus lap money at the track. This event is sure to secure a large field attempting to qualify for the first of its kind. We close out the racing season on the 29th with Championship Night as all four divisions will have their champions crowned for the 2017 season.
Our extra distance events for the Modifieds, Limited Sportsman, and Wildcats as well as other special events will be announced at a later date. In addition, our promotions schedule will likely be released at the beginning of April.
We look forward to the upcoming season as we hope you do too. It will be an exciting one and we look forward to seeing you at the track.
