Nasse Looks to Continue Strong Start to 2017 at The Rattler

Pinellas Park, FL — Stephen Nasse will look to continue his strong start to the 2017 racing season when he heads to Kinston, Alabama this weekend for the 41st Annual Rattler 250. Nasse of Pinellas Park, Florida is set to pull double duty, competing in the Rattler 250 (Super Late Models) and Baby Rattler (Pro Late Models) at South Alabama Speedway.

Nasse will be looking to defend his Baby Rattler win from a year ago and hopes to park his No. 51 DLP Motorsports car in Victory Lane for the first time this year.

“Winning it last year, the Baby Rattler, definitely felt really good and was a nice accomplishment,” Nasse said. “I don’t really think it gives us much of an advantage, but I do think we’re going to be very strong. South Alabama is one of my favorite and better tracks so I think will be strong in both races.”

The 21-year-old driver has put together strong showings at South Alabama Speedway over the past few years. In addition to his Baby Rattler victory in 2016, Nasse owns two top-10 finishes in the past three Rattler 250 events. He also added a third-place finish to his resume at the track last year during the Southern Super Series season-opening race.

“I’m definitely excited for the weekend to get started,” Nasse stated. “It is one of my favorite races of the year and I think we are the most prepared for it that we have ever been, so I’m really just looking forward to getting the ball rolling. If I can come home from Alabama with the fenders and nose on both of my cars and I can get two solid top-five finishes, I’d be happy with that but of course two wins is what I’m shooting for.”

Besides a strong showing at South Alabama Speedway, Nasse has also proven to be a threat wherever he goes. So far during his 2017 campaign, Nasse has recorded four top-five finishes in six outings.

“I think that we’ve been the best we have ever been lately,” he commented. “We are definitely one of the stronger teams wherever we go, so I think this year we have the best shot of ever to win the big rattler. It’ll just take some patience and good car control to get it done.”

Super Late Models and Pro Late Models will be on track Thursday and Friday for practice. Qualifying for both races will take place on Saturday afternoon with the Baby Rattler feature taking the green flag later that evening. The 41st Annual Rattler 250 will see the green flag at approximately 2 p.m. ET Sunday afternoon. Race fans can watch Nasse compete in both races by watching live on Speed51.com.
