Quin Houff to Make NASCAR XFINITY Series Debut with Precision Performance Motorsports
China Grove, N.C. (March 21, 2017) – ARCA Racing Series driver Quin Houff will make his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 on Saturday, April 22nd with Precision Performance Motorsports (PPM). Houff will combine this effort with a start at Richmond International Raceway in the ToyotaCare 250 on Saturday, April 29th, both behind the wheel of the No. 46 Chevrolet Camaro.
The 19-year old Virginia native is new to the NASCAR XFINITY Series, but is no rookie to motorsports. He has been racing since the age of eight, winning more than 20 races in his first season and taking home the championship and Rookie of the Year honors at his hometown track. By age 14, Houff obtained his NASCAR license and won the Limited Late Model Rookie of the Year title and placed top-10 in driver’s points at Motor Mile Speedway.
Houff kicked off 2016 by winning the CARS Tour season-opening race at Southern National Motorsports Park and contending for the title until the final few races and, in 2017, graduated to the ARCA Racing Series with the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway. Houff believes this varied background in racing will give him an edge in his XFINITY Series’ debut.
“I am very excited to be making my XFINITY Series debut with Precision Performance Motorsports at Bristol this upcoming April, as well as Richmond the following week,” said Houff. “Growing up, I watched these two particular races from the stands and dreamed about being one of those drivers one day, so to make that a reality really is a true blessing. The PPM team seems to be the perfect fit for me and the team, as we both are going out there to get noticed and turn heads. I look forward to working with Mark Setzer and the rest of the guys as I gain experience in one of NASCAR’s top levels. I plan on taking this opportunity and turning it into as much as I can. Hopefully, we perform up to expectations and can find more partners and opportunities along the way.”
“We are excited to welcome Quin into our PPM family,” said the crew chief of the No. 46 Chevrolet Camaro, Mark Setzer. “We are proud to be a part of his XFINITY Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway. His passion for the sport and past racing success will be brought to the forefront as he races against some of the best drivers in NASCAR and we know he’ll do great. We are really looking forward to going back to Bristol where we have had many great runs with our Collins Engine Works-powered Chevrolet Camaros. Our past success working with rookie drivers has shown, and our expectations for Quin as a driver are as high as any we’ve had. He’s a true racer and we expect a fun and exciting weekend of racing with him.”
The Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway gets underway at 1:00pm ET on Saturday, April 22nd. The ToyotaCare 250 begins at 1:00pm ET on Saturday, April 29th. Both will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 and SiriusXM.
