Early Entries Already Pouring In for 44th Annual Oxford 250
NAPLES, ME (March 23) – Entries have already started coming in for the 44th Annual Oxford 250, slated for August 25-27 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway. Even though the race is still five months away, nearly 30 drivers have already announced their intentions for the event with drivers from across the spectrum making up those entries.
Early entries include 6-time PASS North Super Late Model champion, Johnny Clark, who filed the first entry for the 2017 Oxford 250. Georgia’s Spencer Davis will be joined by transplanted southerner Kyle Desouza and 2016 PASS South Super Late Model champion Matt Craig of North Carolina, who will be making his first attempt in the 250. Craig recently secured his starting spot in the Oxford 250 by winning a qualifier race at Orange County Speedway this past weekend.
Female racer Sarah Cornett-Ching, fresh off a sixth-place finish at Southern National Motorsports Park, will trek from British Columbia seeking her first Oxford 250 start. In addition to the complete PASS South schedule, Cornett-Ching has also filed entries for the first three PASS North races at Thompson, Oxford, and Beech Ridge.
Cassius Clark, the 2013 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model champion from Farmington, ME, will be returning to the seat of the Hight Motorsports #77, the same team for which he won the title. Two-time Oxford 250 winner Travis Benjamin out of Morrill, ME will be attempting another win along with past 250 winners Mike Rowe and Ben Rowe, Glen Luce, and the most recent winner, Wayne Helliwell, Jr. Joey Doiron and DJ Shaw are former PASS North winners at Oxford Plains Speedway and are always tough competitors on the Pro All Stars Series circuit as they seek their first 250 wins. Cole Butcher, Derek Ramstrom, Reid Lanpher, Travis Stearns, and Joe Squeglia, Jr. are just some of the other strong contenders who have also filed entries so far.
Advanced Tickets are on sale now and can be ordered by calling the Speedway Office at 207-539-8865, the Speedway office is open from 10:30-4:30 pm on Thursday’s and Friday’s.
The 2017 PASS North Super Late Model season is slated to start on Sunday, April 2 with The Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Connecticut.

Drivers purchasing licenses for the 2017 season will receive bonus points for each race they are pre-registered for and will also save money towards any events that they enter early.
