Jordan O’Brien Ready for Icebreaker, Road Race Style at Thompson
Season Opener Begins Driver’s Championship Pursuit
THOMPSON, CT –The 3rd Annual Icebreaker, Road Race Style, an event promoted and managed by OTB Promotions, Inc., is the first opportunity for drivers to engage in wheel-to-wheel sports car competition following the New England winter. Scheduled for Saturday, April 22, at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP), the event provides over an hour of track time at a very affordable entry fee – as low as $250. Veteran Midstate Site Development (MSD) Legends Series driver Jordan O’Brien sees the value the event offers, and looks forward to putting both his skills and car to the test on Thompson’s technical 1.7-mile road course.
O’Brien, driver, and owner of the No. 140 1934 Chevrolet Coupe US Legends Car, has a good idea of what he likes about the TSMP road course. O’Brien Said “ It’s a new track, better than how it was back in the day. There are no real cracks to the road and its predictable so drivers can focus on improving their lines each time out on the track. There is enough space on the track, meaning that there will be more intense battles making the races more exciting…”
The young driver has one goal this year and that is to win as many races as possible. As he achieves this, O’Brien knows that it will help to further his racing career. The Maine native is “using Legend Cars to take a step to promote myself as a driver, showing my skills so I can move up the ranks and hopefully take the US and sportscar racing series to a whole new level.”
There will be some stiff competition, however. Entering the Icebreaker, Road Race Style, O’Brien identified his biggest challengers as defending MSD Legends Series Champion, Noah Korner, and his brother, Glenn Korner. When asked what his strategy was, the driver of the 1934 Chevrolet Coupe explained, “I am going to try to stay ahead of both of them in points each race.”
The Icebreaker, Road Race Style is scheduled for April 22 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. For more information on how to race or get tickets please www.thompsonspeedway.com.
