Summit Racing Equipment Returns to Memphis International Raceway for 7th Season
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (April 25, 2018) – The world’s largest automotive performance equipment company, Summit Racing Equipment, signed a multi-year deal to return as partner and title sponsor of the Bracket Racing Series at Memphis International Raceway (MIR) through 2019.
Summit has been a partner of MIR since 2012, and they will have an even greater presence at Memphis International Raceway in the 2018 season. Their presence not only includes the drag strip, but also the 1.77-mile road course and UTV track. The diversity of their products aligns itself with the variety of racing at MIR in the 2018 season, including drifting, roll racing, drag racing as well as Porsche Club of America (PCA), National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) events on MIR’s road course.
The Summit Bracket Racing Series program will feature 12 scheduled events in 2018 with a guaranteed purse structure at each event and a year-end point’s fund. The Summit Bracket Racing Series will feature 7 classes over the course of the year including Super Pro (Box), Pro / Footbrake (No Box), Junior Dragsters, DOT/Street, Stock/Super Stock and 6.0/7.0 index classes.
Summit Racing Equipment is also partnering with MIR to offer helmets and racing suits to new racers as a part of our loaner program. This is crucial in exposing new racers to the sport and allowing a lower cost of entry for those looking to attend their first racing event at MIR. Safety is paramount at MIR, and our partnership with Summit allows new racers access to the safety gear that they need to safely race on our track.
“Jim and the team at Summit have been exceptional partners to us at MIR and their continued support and dedication to the sportsman racer is second to none. From the support of our local racing program, to the culmination of the Summit SuperSeries finals in October, Summit is the leader in the industry and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with them”, said Pam Kendrick, President of Memphis International Raceway, when asked about the continuation of our longstanding partnership with Summit.
