Legion Car Show a Success, Opening Day this Friday
Over 35 slick and beautifully prepared Racing Machines were on hand Saturday, April 28th for The Legion Speedway’s annual Car Show, held on the grounds of the Speedway. There were about 10 more racers that arrived during the show in anticipation of the scheduled Test and Tune session slated for after the show, but alas heavy overnight rain created a bad situation in turn two that after attempting to work the track it was determined that the track was untraceable, forcing the cancellation of the practice.
Car show winners were as follows: Richie Simmons-Sportsman Modifieds, Matt Pike-Late Model, Jason Gaudette Jr-Mini Stock, Matt Hoyt-Sprint Cars of New England, Dan Bowne-Wingless Auto Club, JP Vaillaincourt-USAC Dirt Midget.
Anticipation for opening night this Friday, May 4th is high after the long winter. Opening night will feature the regular divisions of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series. The Peanut’s Auto Sportsman Modifieds, The Homestead Creations Late Models, and the Rand’s Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks will be joined by the Winged Warriors of the Sprint Cars of New England.
The Legion Speedway is located on Route 25 at the Wentworth/Rumney NH Town line with racing every Friday Night at 7:00 PM. For more information visit www.LegionSpeedway.com
