DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 3, 2018) – With spring in full swing at long last, it’s time for the methanol to flow and the dirt to fly at Dodge City Raceway Park.

The 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas gets the 2018 season underway in grand style with three must-see events over the course of the month of May.

This month’s events at DCRP include the season-opener, the rescheduled Modified Stampede and the first appearance of the season for the United Rebel Sprint Series (URSS).

It all begins with this Saturday night’s season-opening championship card on May 5.  After an idle weekend, action continues with the Sixth Annual Modified Stampede on Saturday night, May 19.  The month of May then wraps up with a Memorial Day weekend special featuring the URSS Sprint Cars taking on the DCRP Sprint Cars on Saturday night, May 26.

All three nights of competition will feature all five DCRP championship chase divisions including the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

The month of May will account for 25-30% of the championship chase with the DCRP Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds both slated for ten nights of points chase action, the Hobby Stocks set for 11 nights, the IMCA Sport Modifieds slated for a dozen nights and the IMCA Stock Cars scheduled for 13 nights.

Current reigning champions at DCRP include Taylor Velasquez (DCRP Sprint Cars), Clay Sellard (IMCA Modifieds), Jeff Kaup (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Angel Munoz (IMCA Stock Cars) and Reagan Sellard (IMCA Hobby Stocks).

Each event in May gets under way at 7:30 p.m.
