Eddie Fatscher Next Up with ARCA Debut
Concord, NC (May 16, 2018) – Sixteen-year-old rookie Eddie Fatscher will make his highly anticipated ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driving debut in the Buckeye state on Sunday, May 20 during the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway.
Fatscher, a native of Long Island, NY, will make his first of three series starts driving for Venturini Motorsports’ No.55 Jenel Construction Toyota Camry.
“This is obviously a big moment in my career,” says Fatscher. “I’ve had this weekend circled on my calendar since signing with the team back in March. I couldn’t be any more excited to take this next step with Venturini Motorsports.”
Making his first start since last year’s Snowball Derby, Fatscher is eager to get back behind the wheel and mix it up in the ARCA Series.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve sat in the seat. So it was good to come up earlier in the week and test with my Venturini Motorsports team. We had a really good test. Getting back behind the wheel felt great. Knocking the rust off came easy. Adjusting and learning how to drive the bigger, heavier ARCA car took some time and was my main focus. These cars drive a lot different than a super (late model).”
“These guys (Venturini Motorsports) have a lot of experience and success bringing up young drivers. I know they’ll unload a solid piece. My job Sunday is to race smart and gain experience. I need to be there on lap-200.”
The ARCA Series has long been known as the primary feeder series into the top three tiers of NASCAR.
Adding his name to the series’ youth movement, Fatscher will also compete at events at Madison Int’l Speedway (June 15) and Elko Speedway (July 14).
The Menards 200 will air live on MAVTV beginning at 2 p.m. ET Sunday afternoon. ARCAracing.com will have live timing, scoring and chat for all on-track activities throughout the weekend.
