It’s “Super Season” at Georgetown Speedway: Super Late Models ‘Clash for Cash’ Friday, June 29

GEORGETOWN, DE — It’s ‘Super season’ at Georgetown Speedway.

The powerful Super Late Models make their first start of 2018 at Georgetown Speedway on Friday, June 29 with the ‘Clash for Cash’ paying a healthy $3,500 to win for 35 laps on the Sussex County half-mile oval.

The Super Late Model division has yet to compete on the progressive banking put into place during the off-season. Practice sessions have been positive, with side-by-side racing expected.

The ‘Clash for Cash’ is a series of races put together by the promotional teams at Georgetown, Potomac Speedway in Budd’s Creek, Md., Winchester (Va.) Speedway, Bedford (Pa.) Speedway, Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway and Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del.

Each race offers a lucrative pay structure and all tracks worked together to schedule without conflicting dates.

The top-five drivers at the end of the series in the standings with perfect attendance will receive point fund cash.

The Georgetown event will offer $300 just to take the green flag.

A stout local field is expected to challenge invaders from across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge chasing the ‘Clash for Cash’ top prize.

Joining the Super Late Models on the docket are the RUSH Late Models paying $1,000 to the winner for 20 laps, plus features-only for Delaware Super Trucks, Delmarva Chargers, Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars and Little Lincolns.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Grandstand gates are unlocked at 5 p.m. Hot laps hit the track at 6:45 p.m. Race time is 7:30 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids ages 9-12 pay $10. Children 8 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $35 for ages 13 and up. Kids ages 6-12 pay $10. Children 5 and under pay $2.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
