New England Short Track Showdown Returns in a Bigger Way for 2019
New Hampshire Motor Speedway to Host Short Track Event on June 22nd-23rd
The New England Short Track Showdown at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be back for 2019 and next year’s event is going to be bigger than ever.
The third annual Showdown will now feature a full weekend of racing with a lineup of six feature events over the course of Saturday and Sunday, June 22nd-23rd, 2019.
The flagship day of racing will be Sunday as the Pro All Star Series Super Late Models, Valenti Modified Racing Series Modifieds, the Street Stock Showdown Series and the North East Mini Stock Tour compete in feature races. Those four types of racecars has been a part of the previous two Showdowns and represent the cornerstones of asphalt short track racing in New England.
Added to the slate for 2019 will be a pair of 30-lap feature events on Saturday. The Weekly Modifieds and Super Street Stocks will take part in those races. Teams from local tracks throughout New England are invited and encouraged to enter the Showdown and race on the largest stage of New England motorsports – New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The 2019 version of the Showdown will be the first time that the Pro All Star Series Super Late Models are a featured division. The Maine-based organization takes part of many of the country’s largest Super Late Model races including the Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME), Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown and Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) as well as the Commonwealth Classic at Richmond International Raceway (VA).

The New England Short Track Showdown is an event made up of six races that showcase New England asphalt short track racing. Pro Stocks/Super Late Models compete with the Pro All Star Series, Tour-type Modifieds compete with the Valenti Modified Racing Series, Street Stocks compete with the Street Stock Showdown Series and Mini Stocks compete with the North East Mini Stock Tour. There are also open competition races for the Weekly Modifieds and Super Street Stocks.
