Bacon Posts Pair of POWRi Midget Top Tens During Turnpike Challenge

TULSA, Okla. (March 28, 2019) – Brady Bacon got to a enjoy four nights of racing close to his native Broken Arrow, OK, home during last week’s POWRi Turnpike Challenge.

Pulling double-duty aboard the Kelly Hinck-owned TKH Motorsports/Dahmer Powertrain No. 21h entries in the Midget and Micro Sprint Car ranks, Bacon raced to a pair of top-ten Midget finishes and scored three podiums in Micro action including a win at Oklahoma City’s I-44 Riverside Speedway on Friday night.

“We only had one race in the Midget together before this, but we’re getting things dialed in better and better each night out,” Bacon said.  “And we’ve always gone well in the Micro and that continued.”

Bacon began the four-night set in the Sooner State by racing to a 12th-place finish in the POWRi National Midget feature at Creek County Speedway before improving to a ninth-place run on the first of two nights at Oklahoma City’s I-44 Riverside Speedway.

After being collected in an early incident that cut Saturday’s feature short in Oklahoma City, Brady returned to Tulsa’s Port City Raceway and rallied from the 15th starting position to capture a fifth-place finish.

“It was nice to get back to the track where I started at and to be able to have a good run,” Bacon commented.

After a ninth-place Micro run at Creek County on Thursday, Bacon was in the lead mix the rest of the way amongst the Micro ranks with a Friday night win and then runner-up finishes on both Saturday at Oklahoma City and then Sunday at Port City.

With this weekend’s scheduled USAC National Sprint Car event at Lawrenceburg Speedway postponed due to inclement weather, Bacon’s next scheduled event is next Friday’s USAC East Coast Sprint Car event at Central Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway.
