Bellm Vies for Legit ASCS Win on Saturday

NIXA, Mo. (April 5, 2019) – Kyle Bellm and the Nixa, Missouri-based No. 14k Sprint Car team have plans to tackle West Plains, Missouri’s Legit Speedway Park for Saturday night’s ASCS Warrior vs. Mid-South Regional showdown.

It’s a track that Bellm narrowly missed out on victory lane at last year.

“We should have had at least second, I just got a little too aggressive and made a mistake that cost me a couple of spots at the end,” Bellm recalls.  “West Plains usually slicks off and I feel like our slick-trick program is really good right now, so I think we have a good chance at doing well there this weekend.”

Bellm enters Saturday’s action after making his first Sprint Car start of the season last Friday night at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway.  The Saturday portion of the weekend fell victim to rain.

The initial race of the season didn’t go as planned, with Bellm missing the feature by just two positions along with several other top contenders after a tough draw.

“It wasn’t according to plans at all, we had a tough draw on a tough track to pass on early and I was probably a little too timid in the heat race,” Bellm says.  “We could have pressed the issue a little more, but it wasn’t really worth tearing up a lot of stuff this early in the year.  We know the engine runs well, so we got something out of the night.  We’ll just try to make the best of this next one.”

After racking up eight wins over the past two seasons, Bellm is looking to add his first win of the 2019 season this weekend.

The Kyle Bellm Racing efforts are made possible with support from marketing partners including Greenworks Nursery, Landscapes Awarded, Christian County Collision Repair, Bybee Lawn Care, PPG Automotive Finishes, Colorvision, Schure Built Suspensions, Schaeffers Racing Oil and Park West Retirement Living.

2018 Quick Stats:  31 races, 3 wins, 14 top-fives, 19 top-tens.
