It’s Modified Stampede Time this Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park

DODGE CITY, Kan. (April 22, 2019) – Set for another try, Dodge City Raceway Park offers up the $1,000-to-win Seventh Annual Modified Stampede this Saturday night, April 27, atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.

Originally slated for April 13 only to postponed by inclement weather, Saturday’s card also features a full slate of championship chase action including Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks along with the headlining IMCA Modifieds.

Saturday’s racing action will get underway at 7:30 p.m.

The Modified Stampede has netted three different winners in the initial six renditions including Ponca City, Oklahoma native Brendon Gemmill, Woodward, Oklahoma’s Cole Traugott, and Oberlin’s David Murray.

Gemmill enters as the reigning Modified Stampede champion after making a dramatic late-race move last year to go along with his first event win in 2014.

Traugott went back-to-back in 2016 and 2017 while multi-time National Champion Murray swept through both nights of the inaugural event in 2013 before adding a second win in 2015.

Penokee’s Clay Money lead’s the track’s IMCA Modified points chase after topping the April 5 season opener ahead of past track champion Clay Sellard and reigning track champion Nick Link.

Other drivers to join Money in victory lane on the April 5 opener to snare early point leads include Luke Cranston (DCRP Sprint Cars), Dakota Sproul (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Angel Munoz (IMCA Stock Cars) and Tathan Burkhart (IMCA Hobby Stocks).

Tickets to Saturday’s Seventh Annual Modified Stampede are just $15 for adults while children 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.  Pit passes are $30.

In total, the 2019 season atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval is slated for 18 nights of action along with another eight Sunday cards atop the newly-constructed 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.
